Nearly a year after numerous models alleged on-the-job mistreatment and sexual abuse, leading forces in the fashion industry have adopted policies to try to ensure their well-being. Kering, LVMH, and Tapestry Inc – parent company of Coach and Kate Spade are all large companies who have issued strict new measures to protect the well-being of models, including the ban of under-16 models from shows such as Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Saint Laurent, Givenchy, Balenciaga, and Céline. Now with NYFW approaching, we will see if this shift continues to be ongoing or if brands fall back into old patterns that landed them in hot water in the first place.
