More than a dozen gardaí were called to a wedding reception after a fight broke out between guests.
According to reports around 200 people were attending the wedding in a hotel in Kinnegad, Co Westmeath last Wednesday when the skirmish broke out.
Local gardaí and members of the Regional Support Unit (RSU) attended the scene.
Guests were brawling and gardaí were forced to use their batons to break up the fight. Pepper spray was also deployed during the incident.
A garda spokesman said officers attended a public order incident at a Hotel in Kinnegad Co Westmeath on August 16 at 10pm.
“Six people were arrested, two late teen males; a man in his 40s, a man in his 30s and a man and woman in their 20s were arrested at the scene under the Public Order Act.”
All those arrested have since been released and a file will be prepared for the DPP.[“Source-independent”]
