The latest edition of the Paris Fashion Week opened earlier this month in the French capital to much fanfare. Some of the world’s top designers are among the participants here, showcasing their Fall/Winter collection at the many fashion events hosted at the venue or through celebrity endorsers on the red carpet. Presented below are some of the highlights of the show, compiled by Swati Singh.

F. Vandevorst

Belgian fashion designer duo presents A.F. Vandevorst Haute Couture Fall/Winter 2017/2018 in Paris on 2 July. An Vandevorst and Filip Arickx created a fashion collection by reworking garbage bags and black plastic to formed bodice and built it up into ruffled, tiered skirts, or else how it appeared as floral embroidery on a sweater. The team of husband and wife also used other trashy material like black vinyl, yellow latex and other recycled waste to create jacquard and jackets. 

Ralph & Russo

Bollywood fashionista Sonam Kapoor walked the runway for the designer Ralph & Russo on 3 July. Sonam who was the showstopper wore the beautiful white embellished bridal gown with a train. The show opened with cocktail looks, like white suit or a one-shoulder black and silver tweed suit with jeweled buttons. Following the eveningwear such as, white organza dress with crystal, a tulle cocktail dress. Another metallic tulle dress with ostrich feathers was part of the collection.

Alexandre Vauthier

Alexandre Vauthier with his new collection revived the excellence of ‘80s haute couture. Bella Hadid hit the runway of Paris fashion week for Alexandre Vauthier sow as a guest. She donned in a see-through navy top and power-dressing black trousers, leather purple belt, and marble effect boots. The collection had tuxedo jacket paired with city shorts, polka-dot silk organza mini dresses and white shirts ruffled with extra flourish and shimmered silver dress with a wide neckline.

Giambattista Valli

Italian designer Giambattista Valli’s collection creates fairy tale moments while showcasing his collection. The collection started with cocktail gowns created from macramé embroidery and crystals, balletic tulle dresses in different hues of pink and yellow, sexy draped silk chiffon numbers, floral numbers in different length and short tutu dresses with long trains at the back which is perfect being fit for a princess.
