Shoes that book a cab with three clicks of the heel? Sounds like something out of the Wizard of Oz except the Unpredictaheel is no imagined fairytale.
The world’s first ‘tap n go’ shoes designed with fashion fillies in mind has been unveiled at Randwick racecourse on the day of Winx’s 20th straight win.
TV host Ksenija Lukich modelled the Unpredictaheel where Australia’s fastest horse Winx drew the crowds to the George Main Stakes for a stellar win on Saturday.
“They’re pretty good. This is the third time I have worn them,” Lukich told AAP.
“They’re very comfortable. They’ve got a very sturdy heel and they’re a lot of fun!
“I personally like the ‘tap n go’ feature which is where if I tap my heels three times I can book a car home. Beep! Beep!”
The shoes also vibrate two minutes before a race is about to start, and credit card technology in the heel allows the wearer to make payWave purchases.
The features are among eight that racegoers said they wanted in a shoe.
But the heels will not be hitting the shops anytime soon.
Australian Turf Club spokeswoman Tracey White says they were only making one pair but she would not be surprised if the concept took off and somebody bought into them.
Lukich agreed and said the heels added a bit more fun for women at the races.
The ATC commissioned Lady Gaga’s shoe designer Kira Goodey to pretty-up the heel, while Melbourne tech company Airbag added the technology.[“Source-news”]
